A free review with a fee on success only works if a few rules are never bent.
Refund services are a watched category and for good reason. These are the commitments that keep Untax on the right side of the people it serves and the regulators that oversee tax agents.
No refund is ever promised
We do not know what is in your return until a qualified person looks at it and the ATO makes the final call on any amendment. Anyone promising you a figure up front is guessing.
No money before a result
There is no charge for the review and nothing to pay up front. A fee only applies where an amendment produces an additional refund.
Nothing is lodged without you
You see the proposed amendment and the fee in writing and you approve it, before anything goes to the ATO.
You can stop at any point
Up until you approve a lodgement, you can walk away and owe nothing. Ask us to delete your details and we will.
Plain words, every time.
It is a free review, never a free service. A fee applies on a successful amendment and saying otherwise would be misleading.
It is no additional refund, no fee, never "no refund, no fee". Most people already received a refund when they lodged. The word additional is what makes the promise honest.
We use no superlatives and no dollar figures that are not documented cases with written consent. The fee trigger in our advertising matches the agent's engagement terms word for word.

Is this a scam?
It is a fair question in a category that sounds like free money. Amending a lodged tax return is an ordinary, legislated process that any registered tax agent can do. What Untax does is find people who did not know it was an option and connect them with an agent. The agent's registration is disclosed to you and is public, so you can verify it on the Tax Practitioners Board register before you hand over anything.
Will this trigger an audit?
Requesting an amendment is a standard process and is not in itself a red flag. Any claim has to be correct and substantiated, which is exactly why a registered agent reviews it and asks you for evidence rather than simply lodging a bigger number.
Can I stop part way through?
Yes, at any point up until you approve a lodgement. Tell us or the agent and it stops there, at no cost.
